Painterly Creations Product Review

Painterly Creations - Personalized Name Train

Etsy has so many great creators. Here is one of my favorties!

About Painterly Creations:
All of Painterly Creations items are made entirely out of wood which Christel paints herself with paints and finishes that are water based, child-safe and US made.

Product Review:
I received a personalized name train (with my son's name - Mitchell). This personalized train will help teach your child to spell their name. The train is also a fun toy that you child can pull around. This train does contain magnets which connect the letter cars. So make sure your child is old enough to play with it. This train would wonderful to to display in any little boy's room until they could play with it responsibly. Included in the price is the locomotive. The entire train is painted in primary colors with a high gloss finish. Each letter is approximately 2 ¼ “ long, 2 ½” high and 1 ½” wide and made of heavy hardwood made to last. Christel is very detailed oriented with her items. Mitchell and his two sisters have been playing with this train constantly and it has dropped many times. It still looks great. Christel takes great care in making sure that her painting stays looking good even through my little tornados.

Shipping was quick and packaging is professional. Christel is quick to respond and is a pleasure to work with. If you are looking something unique to give as a gift, especially a baby shower, then check out Painterly Creations.

'Queen of the Road' Book Review

Queeen of the Road is a unique collection of events about one woman's trip across country with her husband, dog and two cats in a bus of a motorhome.

From the book: “A pampered Long Island princess hits the road in a converted bus with her wilderness-loving husband, travels the country for one year, and brings it all hilariously to life in this offbeat and romantic memoir.

Doreen and Tim are married psychiatrists with a twist: She’s a self-proclaimed Long Island princess, grouchy couch potato, and shoe addict. He’s an affable, though driven, outdoorsman. When Tim suggests “chucking it all” to travel cross-country in a converted bus, Doreen asks, “Why can’t you be like a normal husband in a midlife crisis and have an affair or buy a Corvette?” But she soon shocks them both, agreeing to set forth with their sixty-pound dog, two querulous cats—and no agenda—in a 340-square-foot bus.

Queen of the Road is Doreen’s offbeat and romantic tale about refusing to settle; about choosing the unconventional road with all the misadventures it brings (fire, flood, armed robbery, and finding themselves in a nudist RV park, to name just a few). The marvelous places they visit and delightful people they encounter have a life-changing effect on all the travelers, as Doreen grows to appreciate the simple life, Tim mellows, and even the pets pull together. Best of all, readers get to go along for the ride through forty-seven states in this often hilarious and always entertaining memoir, in which a boisterous marriage of polar opposites becomes stronger than ever.”

Normally, this is not my type of book to read. I am one who likes murder mysteries or suspens thrillers. However, this book really made me laugh and cry (tears fo joy). The book is very easy to read and without a doubt you will get sucked into the story. However, every now and then thoughts will jump from one to another. This can be a bit confusing but you will not get lost. There is the occasional use of profanity but it doesn't distract from the story. I love how you learn a little history as well. Doreen and I defintely see eye-to-eye regarding spiders, lol. I actually think it would be fun to take a long road trip in a hug bus with all the amenities.

Overall, I give Queen of the Road two thumbs up!

Cushy Closer Review and Giveaway! CLOSED!

Baby Urbana - Cushy Closer - Giveaway
Prize: $25 gift certificate

Cushy Closers allow quiet entry and exit while checking on sleeping children
Prevents young children from being locked in (bathrooms, bedrooms, etc.)
Snug fit helps muffle door sounds (slamming, rattling, closing)
Helps with noisy children and husbands, too!

It doesn't matter how much noise a child can sleep through, there's something about the click of a doorknob or rattling of a door that can break through the deepest sleep. Once the Cushy Closer is attached, the door can be opened and closed, completely and quietly, without turning the knob or handle. The snug fit means no rattling or slamming when a blast of air hits the door. Want to thwart the efforts of a toddler trying to lock him or herself in the bathroom or bedroom? Do you have a noisy husband or older children? What other doors may need a Cushy Closer? They're also portable for visits to friends or grandma's or when traveling. As their sister-in-law says, "It's the best little product you never knew you needed." If nothing else, it sure beats putting a sock or rag in the door!

Photobucket

Product Review:
Gail sent me a Cushy Closer to test out. They are wonderful! I have it on the door in my girls room (they are 3 and 5). Prior to putting the Cushy Closer on their door here is what would happen - One would wake up and when leaving the room they closed the door (or should I say slammed) and then the other would wake up. After Cushy Closer (I think you get the picture) the one still sleeping stayed sleeping. It is a wonderful product. Upon first seeing it I thought this puffy thing will never fit but it does. There are a ton of designs to choose from and Gail is awesome to work with. I honestly could not find any flaws to report. Definitely two thumbs up.

Bender Ball Review

Photobucket

The secret to great results is the Bender Method of Core Training … developed bymaster trainer Leslee Bender. Each of Leslee's ab sculpting moves puts you in theperfect position for results. Combined with her effective method of selective stabilization, it cranks up the intensity and targets the muscles you want from all sides - your upper abs, the sides and those hard to reach lower abs.

Photobucket

The Bender Ball Workout
What you're seeing in the gym are people doing a gazillion crunches and they don’t know why they’re not getting results. With a regular crunch on the floor, you’re limited. You can only go forward, you can’t go back. With the Bender Ball, you’re getting extension back and flexion forward, which works your muscles more effectively. The Bender Ball gives you a workout that's up to 408% more effective than ordinary crunches. So you can sculpt beautiful abs fast!
Photobucket

I was extremely excited to receive my Bender Ball in the mail. After having 5 children (last being a c-section) and two major abdominal surgeries, my abs are non-existent. Now I usualy am skeptical with these work-out methods as I have tried so many in the past and none have ever worked. However, after using the Bender Ball for the past two weeks I have noticed a difference. It isn't much but it is still a difference. The only thing that stands in my way is that my 3yo keeps taking the ball. I can't wait to see what the results will be in a few months.

'201 Things To Do When Your Children Say I'm Bored' Book Product Review

Cowcatcher - '201 Things To Do When Children Say I'm Bored' Book

http://www.201thingstodo.com

About Cowcatcher:
Jodie is a former school teacher who created a wonderful book of ideas to help families of all kinds do things with thier children beyond the Candyland games, Guess Who?, baking cookies, etc. So she started collecting ideas of things to do and then decided to put them into a book for all of us who need some extra help coming up with things to do with our kids. Why Cowcatcher? Here’s the definition: (n.) a metal frame on the front end of a locomotive for pushing aside cattle or other obstacles. Hmmm. Jodie removes obstacles. Hence, the name of her business, COWCATCHER Publications (and Presentations because she is also a public speaker).

Product Review:
Jodie sent me a copy of her book. Children love doing things with their parents. Sometimes the simpler the better. I stumbled on this book and knew it would be a great idea for those of us that are looking for something different to do with our kids. This book is an intriguing list of various things to do with kids. To see a sample page, CLICK HERE.
I have 3 and 5 year old girls who are constantly saying they are bored. I have tried several things that are in this book. So far they have loved doing everyone of them. I also like how many of the ideas are for others and not just a simple gratification for them. Ideas vary in age level but you can adapt them to the ages of your child(ren). Some of the ideas can be area related (such as take a nature hike) so if you live in a city environment then you may not be able to do that. Pricing of the book is not too bad for an actual copy. You can save money and buy the e-book version. This book is also an excellent addition to any homeschool program.

The packaging was professional and shipping was quick. Jodie is a doll to work with and quick to respond to any questions I had. If you are looking something unique to give as a gift to a teacher, child or anyone with a child then check out Cowcatcher.

Polliwalks Review and Giveaway - CLOSED

My 5yo daughter loves shoes! So when the opportunity, thanks to Family Review Network, came up to review Polliwalks I jumped at it on her behalf. We received a pair of their Pink Kitty Furry Clogs and their Firefly clogs.

My daughter loved both pairs. Where we live we have snow so she wears her boots to school but inside her backpack are her kitty clogs. She has worn them at school everyday since we received them. I did misjudge the size for her and they are a little bit. However, that hasn't stopped her one bit. She wears the firefly ones at home. Once it is dark she turns all the lights off and runs around the house. It is so cute. Luckily we have light from our tree to be able to see. I do think that the kitty clogs could be made one step better by having the fur removable for washing. Otherwise, I was very impressed with these shoes. Be careful as you may become addicted. My only wish is that they had them in my size.

Polliwalks are made from a molded soft foam and select pairs. Polliwalks are designed to be easy for little ones to get off and on, they fit great and are waterproof and easy to clean. The soles feature their patent pending Footprinter™ Bottom with footprints of the animal the shoe represents. The Kitty and Puppy furry clogs have a soft textile lining that will keep your little ones feet warm all day long. I am impresses with how Polliwalks keeps our environment in mind with their packaging and creations of their shoes.

About Polliwalks (from the website):
Polliwalks™ was born from the imagination of long time footwear designer and former toy designer, Joel Rusnak. He had the idea that children’s shoes should be fun and offer toy like features that will make wearing shoes a playful experience, while offering support, stability and comfort for little feet. Joel teamed up with his wife, and three of his long time industry colleagues, and together, they created Polliwalks™.

The Polliwalks™ team is dedicated to creating innovative shoes that appeal to the fun side of being a child. We back up our fresh approach to product with years and years of combined industry experience, making shoes that not only offer quality, comfort and function, but are born from a playful inspiration that offers unique styling and features that both kids and parents love.
We are proud of our unique brand and our products and are always looking forward expanding what we do with each season!

Where to Buy?
The Gator, Ladybug, Duck, Frog, Kitty and Puppy Polliwalks are available at Zappos.com, ShoeBuy.com, and Nordstrom among other stores. Two new Spring styles are coming out for holiday release EXCLUSIVELY at select Dillards stores and Zappos.com. The two new styles are the Fish Lips, that have lips that will change color in the sunlight, and the FireFly, whose tail lights up upon heel strike. These two new styles will be available only from Dillards and Zappos.com as of Dec 1st.

The Polliwalks company has generously offered to give one Photo Bug Baby reader, with a US mailing address, the chance to win a pair of these adorable shoes for their little one. VTech KidiArt Studio Product Review

VTech - KidiArt Studion
http://www.vtechkids.com/product.cfm?productID=622

About VTech:
VTech, the creator of the Electronic Learning Products (ELP) category, is a world leader of age-appropriate learning toys. Since 1976, VTech has been developing high-quality, innovative, educational products for children from birth to preteen that deliver "smart play" through tthe combination of entertaining electronic formats and engaging, age-suitable content that help children learn while having fun.

VTech Electronics North America, which is based in Arlington Heights, Illinois, is the sales and marketing office of VTech’s ELP business in the United States. With headquarters in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, VTech designs, manufactures and sells its products via a strong brand platform that is supported by a well-established distribution network all around the world.

Product Review:
I received KidiArt Studio from VTech. A great gift for ages 4-7 years. Show your kids just how creative they can be with a high-tech creative tool. KidiArt Studio easily connects to a television or PC so little artists can show off their projects for all to see. With KidiArt Studio, kids can take basic drawing and art lessons, create a full array of printable posters and cards, or make a family tree using real pictures! Use the digital camera conveniently located on the arm of KidiArt Studio to make stop motion animations. Also, when in PC connect mode, your child can save their creations, create custom e-Cards for friends, and print anything they've made. Connect your kids to creativity with the KidiArt Studio. Only requires 4 AA batteries.

This is what it looks like before putting it together. I know it looks confusing but in reality it is extremely easy to put together. No tools are needed. It took me all of 5 minutes to assemble it in its entirety.

Here is the real scoop - my 3yo and 5yo just love this. It is a toy that is played with daily in my house. It took a few days for them to learn all the ins and outs but once learned there was no stopping them. It is very user friendly. The pictures aren't the greatest quality but are still pretty good for a children's toy. There is no flash so they do need to play with it in a lighted room. This item is a bit pricey at $79.99 but well worth the price. I will admit I was a bit skeptical at first but when I saw the fun they were having I was convinced. Even my 16yo was playing with it. That alone should tell you something, lol.

Delgo - Experience A Little Peace & Goodwill This Holiday Season – Animated Style

Delgo brings messages to life in fantasy action adventure Fast-paced action and adventure, a mystical land, an unlikely hero, a princess and a message of acceptance between different cultures make Delgo the perfect family-friendly movie this holiday season.

Releasing in theaters December 12, Delgo’s impressive voice cast includes Freddie Prinze, Jr. (Delgo), Jennifer Love Hewitt (Princess Kyla), Anne Bancroft (exiled Empress Sedessa) as well as Chris Kattan (Filo), Val Kilmer (Bogardus), Lou Gossett Jr. (Nohrin King), Michael Clarke Duncan (Lockni Stonesage Council), Kelly Ripa (Kurrin), Burt Reynolds (Delgo’s Father) and Sally Kellerman (Narrator).

The story takes place in the magical land of Jhamora which is divided between two cultures – the Nohrin, winged masters of the skies, and the Lockni, the terrestrial tribe who harness the mystical powers of the land. When Delgo (Freddie Prinze, Jr.), a reckless Lockni teenager, forms a forbidden friendship with the spunky Nohrin Princess Kyla (Jennifer Love Hewitt), hostilities between the two peoples escalate, setting the stage for an exiled empress (Anne Bancroft) to exact her revenge and reclaim her rule.

Falsely imprisoned, Delgo and his best friend, Filo (Chris Kattan), must put aside their differences to join forces with a sworn enemy, Bogardus (Val Kilmer), and travel to the mysterious land of Perran to rescue Princess Kyla. Here they encounter fanciful creatures and discover more than just a kidnapped princess, they learn the value of different cultures and the importance of working together.

Recognized in the animated industry as “Best Feature Film” Anima Mundi 2008 and selected for Annecy ( France ) and SICAF ( Korea ), Delgo is rated PG and has a running time of 90 minutes. For more information, please visit http://www.delgo.com/

About Fathom Studios
Atlanta-based Fathom Studios (http://www.fathomstudios.com/) has been creating award-winning computer animation since 1991. A division of the interactive agency Macquarium Intelligent Communications, the studio focuses on developing original content for television, film and the Internet through passion and creativity. Delgo is an independent movie and Fathom Studios’ first animated feature. The film was recently awarded “Best Feature Film” at Anima Mundi 2008 by an audience of approximately 100,000. Delgo is rated PG and has a running time of 90 minutes.

My Opinion:
Delgo is an amazing beautiful computer animated movie due to be release on December 12th. The story line is wonderful! It is a fast-paced action and adventure that should keep anyones attention. I would say that this is a must see movie this season. I know I plan to see it when it is released. I do need to say one thing in that this movie is definitely not for little kids. There is a bit of violence. I would suggest no child under age 9-10 should see this movie. Watch the trailes on the Delgo site and decide for yourself as each child is different.

Tootsie's Tid Bits Product Review

Tootsie's Tidbits - Flip Board and Games
http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5497697

About Tootsie's Tidbits:
Kim has been an early childhood educator for over 10 years and really enjoys creating learning games and items that can be used by kids, parents, teachers, and home child care providers.

Product Review:
I received the most creative flipboards:
Uppercase Alphabet Matching
Alphabet Picture Match
Number Matching
One flipboard with rings

Each game consists of 3 sets of laminated cards. Mix up each set of cards and attach to flipboard. Children flip through to match letters, beginning sounds, or numbers. Game can be modified for child's developmental level by using only two sets of cards, or limiting number of cards used. For example, starting with letters in child's name, using only numbers 1-5 or matching only upper and lower case letters, adding beginning sound pictures later. Each game is printed, laminated and cut
to fit the flipboards. These flipboards help to promote visual discrimination and memory.

I have 3 and 5 year old girls. They have been playing with them at least 4 times a week. My 3 yo has learned so much and increased her ability to count and has begun to learn alot more of her
alphabet. The girls have even created their own games. These are a must have for all especially for those who homeschool or have preschools.

The packaging was professional and everything was shipped very quickly. Kim is great to work with and quick to respond to any questions. If you are looking something unique to give as a gift to a teacher or child then check out Tootsie's Tidbits.

Elfing Around Product Review

Elfing Around - Boy/Girl Elf Tradition
http://elfingaround.com/index.php

About Elfing Around:

Having children of her own made Lisa realize very quickly how important it is to keep the magic of Christmas alive as long as possible. She had visions of beautifully elaborate holiday seasons which included an eye-pleasingly decorated home, the yummiest aromas filling the air, the sounds of Christmas music and children laughing echoing throughout, perfectly wrapped gifts in coordinating paper with extraordinary bows adorning each one. Well, more kids were added to the mix and Lisa realized that her vision wasn’t what Christmas traditions were all about anyway.

This was about the time when the Elfing Around elves were discovered. Eureka – the Christmas tradition she'd been dreaming of! The elves were right up her alley. They were messy, funny,
enchanting – but most of all they put a sparkle in her children’s’ eyes and smiles on their faces everyday, all day long. Before her eyes these magical Christmas elves changed Christmas as they knew it. They aren’t just elves to her children – they are Jingle and Sugar Plum, of course! After she set up each nightly escapade (the elf comes with a book explaining what you need to do) Lisa would go to bed excited to see her children’s reactions the next morning.

The elves became part of their family immediately. They were brought on play dates and introduced to their friends, they came to restaurants, parties, movies and honestly, this new Christmas tradition, these two Christmas elves, Jingle and Sugar Plum, brought their family together in ways she couldn’t explain. This Christmas tradition is all about family! They’ve made their Christmas less about the hype and commercialization and more about the joy that Christmas
brings to those who believe. So now when someone asks me – Why a new Christmas Tradition? Why a Christmas Elf Doll? – Lisa answers smilingly, just because, it’s magical!

Product Review:
Lisa was such a doll to send me an elf for both my little girls to review. I received Sparkle (who makes dollhouses) and Pixie (who makes ballet clothes).

Each adorable little elf kit comes with: Boy/Girl Elf (12 inches tall), Parent Adventure Guide Book - year 1, Letter from Herbie Elf (this is given to the child so they can anticipate their elf's visit), 2 Elf Tattoos and a birthday card from your child's Elf on their Birthday.

Your child's elf begins his/her visit 12 days before Christmas. Not to worry about next year as there is year two available. This si when the magic begins. Each night you child's elf (with your help) will have a little fun around the house. Each activity only takes about 5 minutes to set up. All the activities will definitely bring a smile to your child's face.

You can also add on a fun box which is some extra fun along with the activities in the parent
guide.

I personally can not wait to start this awesome tradition with my children. I will going back next year for year 2 and for an elf for my 7mo so he can join in the fun.

The packaging was professional and was shipped very quickly. Lisa is an excellent person to work with. Quick responses. If you are looking for something special for your children or even your grandchildren then check out Elfing Around.

http://www.bonboncupcakes.com/

About Bon Bon Cupcakes:

Bon Bon Cupcakes are a children's legging and apparel company based in Kansas City, MO. They are proud to serve children's stores all over the country as well as internationally!

Product Review:
I received the most sweetest pair of basic white ruffle leggings for my 5 year old. These are so cute and look just adorable on. The are a wonderful addition to any litte girl's wardrobe. There are a variety of design choices from basic one ruffle to double ruffles to ones with bling. You can also get team colors and holiday designs. My daughter did snag hers but not sure if that makes them easy to snag or not as she had worn them to school. My daughter said she loved them and that they were nice and soft. These leggings will compliment almost anything in a little girl's wardrobe.

The packaging for the leggings is simply adorable. They look like a little cupcake in a clear plastic box. Shipping is very quick. Marianne is a pleasure to work with and is quick to respond. These leggings would be cute with any dress or outfit.

Product Review:
I received the cutest pup tent and adorable collar scarfs for pets.

Pup Tent - These are best meant for your precious little pup and are so cute. They are like
a little tepee for your pup. They will feel like a little indian. Very well made and adorable fabric.

Collar Scarf - These are the most adorable things. The one thing I like the most is how the go on and stay on. The collar feeds through the top and stays on. There are many designs and sizes to choose from.

The packaging was professional and was shipped very quickly. Robbie is a great person to work with. Quick responses. If you are looking some unique items for your pets then you should contact.

Product Review:
I received the most adorable sets of magnetic dolls - Delia the Dragon, Drew the Dragon, Aurora the Unicorn and Valarie.

Each adorable set comes with seveal cute outfits and accessories to play with the magnetic paperdolls. My girls love these. Since we are a family on the go alot they keep them in the car and play with them while we go from one play to another. They have even figured out how to use them as puppets of sorts to make their baby brother laugh. These do make it into the house and are played with on the refrigerator. Lots of creative space to play.

The packaging was professional and was shipped very quickly. Valarie is wonderful to work with. Quick responses. If you are looking some unique stocking stuffers then you should check out Chearie Fearie.
