Here is a special recipe that we make each Christmas. It was one that my oldest daughter and I made each year with her Papa until he passed away. Now we continue to make it each year and remember how much fun we had making them with him and making new memories.
Walnut Crescent Cookies
1 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups finely chopped walnuts
Powdered sugar for coating
Mix walnuts and flour and sugar together, then add butter and vanilla.
Mix with fingers, until all blended. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour.
Heat oven to 325 degrees.
Heat oven to 325 degrees.
Shape dough by slightly rounded teaspoonfuls into crescent shapes or balls.
Place about 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 12-15 minutes or until set but not brown.
Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheet.
Cool completely. Roll in powdered sugar.
I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do!
